The dark pink carpet as the background fits well with the color of the pieces. My other choice of the background color would be yellowish beige, which might offer a different contrast to the dark blueish color of the two pieces.
The reflection spots on the top edges of both pieces look very nice.
The shapes of these two shakers are very interesting. I almost read them as one kneels down and trying to hold on to the other. :)
On my sketch, these two shakers were about the same height. I named them “hug” or “dance” originally. However, it turns out that one is much shorter than the other one, and looks like kneeling down. I should name them “wrestling.” Don’t you feel so?
I like the way it is now. Two equal shakers make a much less interesting combination. I didn't get the impression that these two shakers are wrestling against each other. "Hugging" or "Dancing" are much more romantic. The setting reminds me most is one party is kneeling down begging or repenting to the other party. Oh, well, ..., not so romantic as hugging and dancing.
The one with gray background is not so dramatic as the two in pink background. Given the comparison, I would say the reflections on the subjects definitely make the images more sophisticated.
A second thought is that a bright yellowish background probably would make the subject outstanding better. The gray background doesn't seem to produce the needed effect to bring up the dark color of the subjects.
